FAQ

Custom stone coasters questions, answered.

Everything buyers ask before they order — minimums, timings, artwork and print options.

What is the minimum order?

Our minimum order is just 12 coasters — one boxed set for a client is a normal order — with bulk tiers for gifting runs and retail lines.

How fast will my coasters arrive?

Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and finished coasters ship in about 2 weeks, with express turnaround available when a date is fixed.

Which stone actually absorbs the drink ring?

Sandstone, and only while it is unsealed. That is the point people are buying and it is worth understanding the cost: the pores that take up condensation also take up red wine and coffee and keep them. Absorbency and stain resistance are the same property with opposite signs, and no stone gives you both.

Why did our marble coaster go dull?

It etched. Marble is calcium carbonate, so acid — citrus, wine, vinegar, cola — dissolves the polished surface on contact and leaves a matt patch. That is chemistry, not a fault, and it cannot be cleaned off. It is why we steer distilleries and cocktail bars toward granite or slate.

Does sealing solve anything?

It solves staining and it does not solve etching, because a sealer is not an acid barrier. On sandstone it also destroys the absorbency you paid for. We will seal something if you ask, once we have told you what it does and does not do.

Why does the backing matter?

Because stone is harder than any table finish. An unbacked or partly backed coaster will mark a lacquered or waxed surface, and grit caught under a bare edge acts like sandpaper. Everything we make has full-coverage cork or felt, not four little dots in the corners.

Should a busy bar buy stone coasters?

Honestly, usually not. Stone breaks when it is dropped on a tiled floor, it is heavy to move in volume, and the absorbent ones stain from the first spirit spill. Stone is a gifting, tasting-room and interiors product. For a working wet bar there are better materials and we would rather tell you that than sell you a case.

Do you make cork, wood or acrylic coasters?

No. We only work in stone — sandstone, slate, marble, granite and engineered stone. Cork, neoprene, wood, ceramic and acrylic are different products with different machinery, and we would rather point you at someone who does them properly.
